If you’ve found yourself struggling to bounce back the way you used to, engaging in compulsive or addictive behaviors, or noticing the impact of past trauma, therapy can increase your resilience to adversity. By building our resilience, we learn to tolerate uncomfortable feelings with more acceptance and compassion to heal from our past and live a life that is congruent with our values. I’m experienced in working with a wide array of life’s challenges, including mood symptoms such as anxiety and depression, worries about the extent or frequency of alcohol and substance use, and relational problems.
I utilize a harm reduction approach that is trauma-focused to explore functions of our behavior and healthier ways to overcome adversity. My orientation is psychodynamic in nature, with a focus on relationships (both past and present) and mindfulness techniques. I'm trained in CPT, DBT, and Prolonged Exposure. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
I recognize that the coping skills we’ve developed throughout our life may eventually stop serving us, create negative consequences, or leave us feeling unfulfilled. Together, we can explore the function of these coping skills and learn to shed these behavior patterns in order to make space for a more authentic, meaningful life.
